A Rustic Walk

In the rural interiors of Murshidabad in West Bengal, my walk at Dahapara has been an interesting one. This was a walk to the Sri Sri Prabhu Jagadbandhu Dham, a spiritual destination in Dahapara area. A huge serene and green campus, with a divine aura all around, made me feel very relaxed.

While having conversations with sanyasis at the ashram, I noticed one well with two hand pumps located next to the temple. The way it was being used with care made me curious. I enquired from the priest and came to know that one sanyasi fetches 5 big kalash of Gangajal on his head, in 5 rounds from Ganga ghat and pours in that well, every morning. I felt so good seeing such a gesture of reverence for the holy Ganga.

Another significant thing happened during this walk. I found an exotic flower that caught my all attention. I clicked, made enquiries from local people, researched more and found out, this unique flower is connected sacredly with Lord Shiv. Thus, named Shiv Kamal and Shivling pushp. Called as Nagling too, due to the peculiar shape of the flower as if a snake protecting Shivling.

Apart from walking I took a public boat ride to the other bank of Ganga, as the locals do there. Rural people even ferry their cattle this way. I saw boatman using a rope and an iron rod to steer the boat. This ride amazed me.

Dahapara rustic walk is special to me because I found a special flower.
