Connecting To The Divine

Every year I make a special journey to meet Maa Ganga and explore heritage along the pious river Ganga. This time I traveled to Bithoor near Kanpur. Brahmavarta in Bithoor is venerated as the site where God Brahma created the universe.

Bithoor is also famous for the Balmiki ashram where sage Balmiki wrote the epic Ramayan. Sita ji, the consort of Shree Ram, took shelter in the Balmiki ashram during her exile and gave birth to twins Luv and Kush.

With lush green surroundings and serene environment, Balmiki ashram on the banks of holy Ganga, is truly a sanctuary of peace. I cherished my Ganga walk in the serene environment of Bithoor.

On this trip I also visited Ayodhya.

In Ayodhya

Situated on the banks of sacred river Saryu, Ayodhya Dham is the birthplace of  Shree Ram, the avatar of God Vishnu.

I was blessed to be in Ayodhya on the occasion of Ram Navami, the auspicious day when Shree Ram took birth in human form. Each corner of Ayodhya was decked up for the revered festival of Ram Navami. Amid chants of Jai Shree Ram, an ocean of devotees patiently waited for their turns to get a glimpse of  divine Ram at the heavenly Ram Janambhumi temple.

Flowing in the divine wave, walking continuously for around 13 hours, I submerged in the holy aura of Ram Navami in Ayodhya.
