Virgin Nature With Spiritual Semblance

My immersive Ganga walks make me learn, serve and educate. I learn about the life around Ganga. I serve the cause of Ganga pollution by raising awareness. I educate about the rich heritage along Ganga.

In this post I am sharing three of my Ganga walks amid unspoiled nature with a spiritual aura. Ganga river looked so divine at these heritage sites.

Avantika Devi.

A dive in mythology with Krishna and Rukmini union at Avantika Devi. It is believed Shri Krishna married Rukmini here. Picturesque vistas of Avantika Devi with magnificent Ganga. Avantika Devi has a famous Gurukul as well in the scenic ashram settings. I interacted with ashram and gurukul people. Stayed at govt guest house there and walked in serene surroundings. Met many farmers on floodplains. Even spotted a gharial there.

Bhrigu Kshetra

Perched on a mound with abundant nature. This is Bhrigu Kshetra, a heritage site on the Ganga bank and one of my favorite Ganga walks that I recommend everyone to experience on foot. Bhrigu Kshetra ashram is revered as a pious grove of Maharishi Bhrigu. Renowned Indian politician and saint Uma Bharti deeply connects with Bhrigu Kshetra ashram. I stayed at the ashram guest house there. Got a sight of turtle at an isolated stretch while walking.

Sidhvari

A taposthali of saints. Sidhvari is a unique grove revered as a hallowed entity, situated on a ridge along Ganga in Upper Ganga River Ramsar site. As per the study published in the latest edition of the journal Current Sciencethe Siddhvari is now the oldest banyan tree to have been scientifically dated in the world. I was guided to Sidhvari by a 72 years old motherly figure Mithilesh ji from Ramghat. She also walked with me for more than 12 km through jungles. Example of Sidhvari shows how venerating nature can help protect the environment.

Above three sites on Ganga banks come under dist Bulandshahar of Uttar Pradesh. Avantika Devi and Bhrigu Kshetra can be easily accessed from Anupshahar. Sidhvari is close to Ramghat.
